 2020  KAPE  Scholarship Recipients


Bhoomi Shah is a senior at Henry Clay High School and is a Star Student Scholarship Recipient who was sponsored by KAPE member Linda Dewees. Bhoomi is the daughter of Mital and Sanjay Shah. Her future plans are to attend the University of Louisville and major in Biology. Congratulations, Bhoomi!


McKenzie Vorbeck is a senior at South Laurel High School and is another one of our Star Student Scholarship recipients. She was sponsored by KAPE member David Helton. McKenzie is the daughter of David and Monica Vorbeck. Her future plans are to attend Eastern Kentucky University and major in Occupational Science. Congratulations, McKenzie!


Our KAPE Student teacher scholarship recipient is Kerrie A. Martin from London, KY.   She is graduating from Eastern Kentucky University with a major in Elementary Education. Kerrie is married to Dylan Martin. She completed student teaching this semester at Keavy Elementary. Congratulations, Kerrie!


KAPE Family Member Scholarship Recipient is Darion Ball, son of KAPE member Shannon Proffitt-Ball and Darius Ball. Darion is a senior at North Laurel High School. His future plans are to attend Morehead State University. Congratulations, Darion!


Jane Hall is another KAPE Family Member Scholarship Recipient. She is the daughter of KAPE member Tara Hall and Michael Hall. Jane is a senior at North Laurel High School and is a Governor's Scholar. Her future plans are to attend the University of Kentucky and major in Mechanical Engineering. Congratulations, Jane!


Our first Professional Development/Continuing Education Recipient is Cynthia Cain. Cynthia is a KAPE member and special education teacher at Paris Middle School. She is the proud mother of two daughters, Abby and Erin, and has five furry friends. Congratulations, Cynthia!


Our next Continuing Education Scholarship winner is Tonya Allen. She is a KAPE member and teacher at South Laurel Middle School. She has been teaching for 16 years and is married to Shawn Allen, a minister, and they have two sons, Dolton and Jackson. Congratulations, Tonya!


Rachel Medina is also a KAPE Continuing Education Scholarship recipient. She resides in Nicholasville with her husband, José Medina. Rachel is currently finishing her 10th year as a Spanish teacher at Western Hills High School in Frankfort. She has been a member of KAPE since her first year of teaching. Congratulations, Rachel!
