KAPE EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP AWARDS
Superintendent Excellence in Leadership Award
Landon Howard Bond Memorial Principal Excellence in Leadership Award
In 2019 KAPE's Board of Directors awarded their first Excellence in Leadership Awards. Principal Brian Bond of Laurel County was the first recipient of the principal's award. He has served as principal of Hunter Hills Elementary for over 10 years. In early fall of 2019, just a few months after receiving the award, Mr. Bond's son, Landon, died tragically. He was a track and field athlete attending Berea College whose life was cut short unexpectedly. KAPE's Board of Directors, along with Mr. Bond and Landon's mother, Brooke Deaton, join KAPE in presenting this award annually to an excellent principal in memory of their son.
